Wall saws and hydraulic hand saws
Wall saws and large hydraulic handsaw equipment cut up to 32 inches into a foundation. Wall sawing uses a diamond blade on a track, for horizontal and vertical cuts, including steep surfaces where other saws are unsafe. Openings are cut for ventilation units, doorways, and windows. Hydraulic hand saws cover the cuts that need a faster, more adaptable tool.
Slab sawing
Slab saws are used on roads, parking lots, driveway removals, and openings in floors for plumbing and electrical. Expansion cuts are made at one third of the depth of two-day-old concrete so the new slab can move without random cracking.
Breaking and removal
Breakers on skid steers and excavators take down concrete that has to leave the site. Handheld jackhammers are used where a machine will not fit, including tight or delicate areas.
Coring
Cores are drilled up to 20 inches in diameter. Call ahead for anything larger. Depth is not capped the way diameter is. Stitch drilling, a row of overlapping cores, is used when a saw cannot make the opening, including thick walls and slabs where an overcut would hurt the structure.
